Men's Health Mental Health Tool Kit

Men's Health Mental Health Tool Kit
Magazine

Mental well-being is a necessary part of our existence as humans, yet men often face unique challenges and stigmas when it comes to discussing and addressing their mental health. The events of the past few years have only heightened the problem, with men feeling on average more isolated, depressed, anxious, and furious than in the past several decades. Men currently account for 75% of suicide victims in the United States, and around the world, men are 3 to 7.5 times more likely to die of self-inflicted methods. We all find different ways to cope when there’s something not feeling quite right inside of us, and some of these outlets are healthier than others for getting through the darker times. This book serves as a guide with important information on depression and other mental health struggles like addiction, as well as tips on how to cope when our lives feel too hard to manage on our own. This book is not meant to shame your current management techniques or to say that one magic method will make everything OK: Feeling better takes time, patience, and help. It’s simply to try to provide the last element of that, along with some hope and comfort in knowing that you’re not alone.
