A Comparison of Organizational Identity and Alumni Participation Between Residential and Online Graduates of CCCU Member Institutions

ebook
This study was designed to compare the organizational identity and alumni participation levels of online and residential undergraduate students at Christian colleges and universities. A review of related literature established a theoretical framework to ground the study. Previous work in Social Exchange Theory and Social Identity Theory provided a basis upon which to formulate hypotheses regarding the role of organizational identity in influencing alumni participation. The review also identified the growing population of online students in higher education as a significant resource for higher education institutions seeking to replace volatile state and federal funding sources by increasing alumni donor bases.
