Effects of reentry debriefing on depression, anxiety, and stress in missionaries returning from the field.

ebook
Reentry debriefing programs are often used to help returning missionaries move through the difficult transitions involved in adjusting back to life in the United States. There exists little empirical evidence as to the effectiveness of these programs in helping missionaries in this journey. This quantitative research examined the effects of debriefing and reentry programs on symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress as measured by the DASS-21 self-assessment for returning missionaries. One hundred and four participants qualified tor the electronic survey. These participants were all international missionaries who had returned from their field of service in the past two years.
